Former Vidant president named NC Hospital Association president

The former president of Vidant Medical Center has been selected as the president of a statewide association.

Following a board of trustees meeting, Steve Lawler was selected as the North Carolina Hospital Association's next leader.

He'll take the post July 1st.

Lawler is currently the senior vice president of the regional group for Carolinas Healthcare System.

Lawler served in various roles with Vidant Health over 20 years, including seven as president of the Greenville hospital.

The NCHA is a trade association representing more than 130 hospitals providing acute care, rehabilitative, behavioral, psychiatric and veterans' services.
