FEMA has lifted its freeze on Hurricane Matthew recovery funds for North Carolina, according to Congressman Robert Pittenger.
The congressman issued a statement to our sister station, WRAL, saying that $110M owed to counties in our has been released.
The money was frozen last month to allow FEMA to re-route aid to victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
Congressman Pittenger did not provide WRAL with any time frame for when the money could be available, but told our Raleigh counter-part that two funding bills helped move the process along.
State officials have not confirmed.
