GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Construction contractors returned to the hospital they built to spread holiday cheer to some very special patients.
Crews from T.A. Loving Construction dropped off hundreds of toys at the James and Connie Maynard Children's Hospital in Greenville on Monday.
Company employees, as well as several sub-contractors, have made it an annual Christmas tradition that began when they were building the new children's hospital and noticed little kids watching them work.
The toys will be given to patients and their siblings who are hospitalized and visiting over the holidays.
"I would hope that us being able to do this for them, this gives them a little ray of hope when things may be sort of tough," says John Berry with T.A. Loving. "And so we just hope that helps them and their families get through some tough times."
The contractors also raised $6,000 for the hospital.
