GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Bringing together members from all parts of the community. That was the goal at one local Thanksgiving dinner at a church in the east.
The Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville offered a free Thanksgiving dinner, complete with turkey, stuffing and all the fixings.
The feast was in an effort to unite people from the community in all situations, whether they be poor, homeless, or just in need of someone to eat with this holiday season, by inviting them into their church to share a meal, uniting them with kindness and faith.
"Today, we wanted to have a cooked meal so the people of our community, the homeless, the less fortunate, and those of us that are part of this congregation and the community at large could come in, and eat in fellowship together as we give thanks," says Senior Pastor Stephen Howard.
Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church was hoping to feed nearly 200 people this Thanksgiving.
