TYRRELL COUNTY, N.C. (WITN)- A sheriff's office in the east says a man who is facing identity theft charges after making purchases with a relatives cell phone account.
Tyrrell County Sheriff Darryl Liverman says that his office arrested Chase Morris, 27, of Columbia. He's facing 17 counts of identity theft and 17 counts of obtaining property by false pretense.
The sheriff says that Morris used a number from a relatives cell phone to buy games on his phone. Liverman adds that Morris was out on probation for other convictions.
He's being held in the Dare County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond and has a first appearance scheduled for this morning.
