CHERRY POINT, NC (WITN) - A squadron commander at Cherry Point has been relieved of his duties for unspecified reasons.
The Marine Corps says Lt. Col. Taylor White will be reassigned "due to a loss of trust and confidence in his ability to continue to lead," according to a news release.
White was promoted to commander of Marine Wing Support Squadron 274 a year ago. He was relived of his command today by Major General Matthew Glavy, commanding general of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.
Lt. Col. Scott Cobb will replace White at MWSS-274.
White joined the Marines in 1996 as a combat engineer and later was commissioned as an officer after receiving his college degree.
