CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - One local preschool center is getting help to purchase specialized therapeutic play equipment.
The C.G. Foundation of Morehead City donated $10,700 to the Carteret Pre-School Center.
The school serves 39 students ranging from 3 to 5 years old, many of which have limited mobility and multisensory issue needs.
Jeanne Huntley, the pre-school administrator, says their center currently has basic equipment, but nothing specialized to accommodate the physical needs of their students.
Huntley says their plan is to "provide equipment so all students can engage in play with their peers, while building social, emotional and physical skills."
She says she's going to continue looking for different funding options, like grants and donations, to complete the school's master plan for specialized play equipment.
