Although it's only July, retailers say now is the best time to make your back-to-school supply lists, with deals already in full swing.
According to a survey by consultancy Deloitte, parents plan to spend an average of $501 per student, but before you make a dent in your wallet, here are some deals to keep an eye out for:
-Staples launched its Back to School Center on June 25, offering deals on school supplies
-Target's back-to-school campaign kicked off July 9, with discount ads breaking nationally on July 23
-Walmart stores started selling discount merchandise the first week of July, with their official school-based sales launching July 10
-Apple is hosting a back-to-school sale on laptops and tablets for students, parents of students and school employees until September 25, including a choice of free Beats Headphones with your purchase
-J.C. Penney offers up to 60% off select school uniforms
-Amazon offers discount school supply prices online, featuring hundreds of items for under $5
-Download the Groupon app for additional promotions at big retailers
The National Retail Federation says back-to-school spending is expected be 10% higher this year, so land some deals while you can.
