Back-to-School Brigade distributes school supplies to military children

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. Operation Homefront, Dollar Tree, SAIC, and Honda Financial Services joined forces on Saturday to distribute 1,000 backpacks and necessary school supplies to military children as a part of Operation Homefront's annual Back-to-School Brigade.

The give-away started at 9 a.m. at Heroes Elementary School where families who pe-registered were able to pick up necessary school supplies just a few weeks before school starts.

Since 2008, Operation Homefront's Back-to-School Brigade has passed out more than a quarter-million backpacks to military children nationwide and will soon give away its 300,000th backpack.
