Ayden adopts elementary school in Texas to help with recovery

AYDEN, N.C. (WITN) - A local town and their elementary school familiar with flooding is adopting an elementary school just outside of Houston to help with their recovery process.

Through September, Ayden Elementary School and the town of Ayden are collecting money and items for Stephen F. Austin Elementary School in Texas.

If you'd like to drop off money or a check, which should be made out to Ayden Elementary School or Ayden Christian Church and specify "Hurricane Relief", the town or church members will use that money to buy any additional items that are needed.

Here is the wish list sent from the principal of Austin Elementary (new or gently used):
Boy/girl shirt: 18 months - sizes 14/16
Boys/girls pants/shorts: sizes 4-14
Shoes sizes: baby boy: size 2T, 5 and 10
