Another prison farm inmate facing drug charges; 38th in past year

TYRRELL COUNTY, NC (WITN) - Another inmate at an Eastern Carolina prison was found with drugs on him, according to one sheriff.

Tyrrell County Sheriff Darryl Liverman says on Tuesday they arrested Joshua Lowery and charged him with felony possession of controlled substance on prison/jail premises.

The 29-year-old Lowery, who is from Pembroke, is serving a one-year, seven-month prison sentence for various crimes including multiple counts of identity fraud.

Liverman says Lowery was in possession of suboxone and is the 38th inmate at the Tyrrell Prison Work Farm, that has been arrested during the past year.
