All counties in eastern Carolina, excluding Carteret county and the Outer Banks, will be under a heat advisory on Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Highs in the mid 90s, combined with high humidity levels will drive the "feels like" temp from 102 to 107 degrees through much of the day Friday.
The excessive heat will become dangerous again today, especially for those working outside. Remember to stay well hydrated and take plenty of breaks through the day. Listen to your body!
Remember to take care of your pets as well. Provide plenty of water and ideally keep pets inside. Check on your neighbors as well.
The heat will break a bit on Saturday as a cold front arrives with more clouds and scattered showers and storms.
