CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Six United Blood Nation gang members have been sentenced to lengthy terms for a South Carolina couple's murder, ordered from jail to prevent testimony against gang members who tried to rob their mattress store.
The U.S. Attorney's Office said they were sentenced Monday to between 13 years and life in prison.
Prosecutors say at least a dozen gang members were connected with the killings, which were ordered to prevent Douglas London from testifying against gang members who tried to rob the couple's store in Charlotte. Douglas and Deborah London were shot in the face when they answered a knock on the door of their home in Lake Wylie, South Carolina. Two others are serving life terms, and four more await sentencing.
