BIOGRAPHY:
Two years after Ariel had already chosen to major in mathematics and Spanish in college, she decided she wanted to be a journalist. She convinced the sports editor of The Daily Northwestern to let her cover baseball and then secured internships at NBC Telemundo (research department) and WCIU, The U (morning show) in Chicago. After graduating with two non-journalism degrees from Northwestern University, this Chicagoan moved to Washington, D.C. to get her masters in journalism from Georgetown University.

Ariel really enjoyed her time in D.C. She had the amazing opportunity to write about food for Northern Virginia Magazine and to cover the Redskins, Wizards and Capitals for WUSA9, D.C.’s CBS affiliate. She also enjoyed living in The District due to its relative proximity to North Carolina! She and her husband road tripped to NC numerous times for NCAA Tournament games, beach trips and once because they just craved some good BBQ.
