International Film Series
They are back at it this year with four new films from four new countries. Beginning January 18, 2018, the International Film Series returned to Carteret Community College. The film series will extend from January through April, and includes four foreign films to be shown on the big screen in the Joslyn Hall auditorium, on the college campus.
The films will have three show times each month; 5:20 pm and 7:30 pm showings on a Thursday and a 2:00 pm bonus matinee on a Friday. All show times are free and open to the public. (Donations at the door are appreciated and help support the series.) Refreshments will be available in the lobby.
There is also an opportunity for dinner prior to the 7:30 pm showings. Join the Carteret Community College Foundation, Inc. for a wonderful dinner catered by Floyd's 1921 and inspired by the featured movie's country. Crystal Coast Foosball Challenge
2018 will mark the 8th year that Bonzini U.S.A. will host the Crystal Coast Foosball Challenge at “The Beach Tavern” in Atlantic Beach. Proceeds go to benefit Hope Mission of Carteret County. Primarily a food raising charity event, foosball players along the East Coast join to compete for $1,000.00 in cash and prizes. Since 2001, they have surpassed $200,000 in contributions raised through Bonzini U.S.A. Foosball Tour events for various charities.
Alan Cribbs, President of Bonzini U.S.A. said; “The players really enjoy this event right after the holidays and appreciate the hospitality of The Beach Tavern and the local community. It gives our company an opportunity to showcase our products and provide entertainment to the local community with some talented foosball play. Our players love the attention and can really pull off some spectacular shots when inspired, so we hope to have a large crowd of spectators to bring out their best.” The event will be held January 12th and 13th with events kicking off at 7:00pm Friday. Donations of dry goods will be accepted from participants and spectators alike. Come on out and support Hope Mission of Carteret County. For more information, www.bonziniusa.com.
