Edgecombe County

The Edgecombe County Department of Social Services will be taking applications for residents of Edgecombe County for the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program beginning December 1, 2017 through December 29, 2017 (or until funds are exhausted) for disabled persons receiving a service through the Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) or for households with an elderly member who is age 60 and older.
Applications on all other households will be taken from January 2, 2018 through March 31, 2018 or until funds are exhausted.
The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) gives families a one-time vendor payment to help pay their heating bills.

If interested in receiving assistance you will need to apply at the Human Service Office, 122 East Saint James Street, Tarboro, NC and the Social Service Office, 301 S. Fairview Road, Rocky Mount, NC. For more information you may call 252-641-7611 in Tarboro or 252-985-4101 in Rocky Mount.

The Edgecombe County Department of Social Services has established satellite application points throughout the county to reach households, especially the elderly and handicapped. Prospective applicants are encouraged to apply at locations in their community to avoid long lines and extended waiting periods. These locations are as follows:
