Hundreds of runners in Greenville hit the pavement Saturday morning to raise money for a good cause.
It was the 12th annual Habitat for Humanity Home Run Race. Organizers say more than three hundred people ran to raise money for the Pitt county chapter. Runners could choose from four different races the 10k, 5k, 1 mile, and kid dash.
Beth Everett, the director of the Habitat for Humanity in Pitt County, says, “When you are volunteering with Habitat it’s not about me, myself and I, it’s about responsible, deserving, families needing a first home and when you dedicate that first home to a family tears are everywhere.”
