Sycamore Hill Missionary Baptist Church is celebrating its 150th Anniversary, making it the oldest African American Church founded in Greenville.
Many church and community members gathered at the Greenville Town Common to celebrate. That's where the church first stood.
Sallye Streeter was at the celebration and say she has been a member for 66 years. Streeter's great-grandmother was one of the original 22 who helped start the church. Streeter says, "It is just such an honor and pleasure to have kept the legacy from that time."
