Carteret Community Theatre presents The Sound of Music at West Carteret High School in Morehead City, North Carolina on the following dates:
Friday, January 21 and Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 8:00 P.M.
Friday, January 28 and Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 8:00 P.M.
Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 2:00 P.M.
General admission is $12, student admission is $6, and preferred seating is $15. Children under 5 are admitted free.
Director Judy Long stated, "I feel like we really have the cream of the crop for this show. Carolyn Meadows (music director) and I have worked very hard with the cast to bring out their best and they are wonderful. There is certainly no need to dub anyone in this production, and I think the community will be amazed at the level of talent both of the cast and the orchestra lead by Craig Everett." Carteret Community Theatre performances are typically smaller due to the venue we have accessible to us but with the assistance of Deborah Belknap, drama teacher at West Carteret High School, and the use of the West Carteret High Schools auditorium, we are able to spread our wings and soar to new heights. With this in mind, due to cost of costumes, sound equipment, and other expenses we have had to rely on the generosity of the community and our gracious sponsors to bring this production to fruition. In addition, numerous volunteers such as local artists and other members of the community have assisted in building the sets, donating props, painting backdrops, altering costumes, and many other aspects of the show that are essential in allowing us to perform the production.
