Bikers Plan To Travel 750 Miles For A Good Cause

In eight days bikers plan to travel from New Bern to Florida and it’s all for a good cause.

Viktor Quero and Doug Bacskay began their 750-mile bike ride Saturday. They are trying to raise money and aware for Thoughts Foundation and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Several bikers will joins them along the way. Organizers say already the bikers have raised $2,500 dollars, but by the end of the trip they hope to raise $10,000 dollars.

Bacskay says he became involved after his friend passed away from the disease. He says, “I'm doing it in her honor and if anyone gets inspired by what I do it’s through her inspiration that I do this. So It’s more about the people and it's more about everybody else than it is about her. I love the feeling I get from it, but I want to pass it on to somebody else."

I think you two couch potatoes missed the point. These people are riding from NC to FL to raise money and raise awareness. They are not doing it to please you or anyone else... they have a calling in life. What is yours? I wish i had one... i wish i had to guts to have one.

Yes they are doing a good thing trying to help others. I don't think you could call this a calling, it's more like a long bike ride. Id love to get time off work to join them it sounds like a lot of fun.

Do you really have nothing better to do than insult people that are trying to do something good? Tomorrow do me a favor, go outside and help someone, got to a pound and walk some of the animals and clean out their cages, just do something. Because when people stop being a part of the solution they become part of the problem.

Those "annoying nerds" are some of the most selfless people you'll ever come across. One of them happens to be my husband in which I'm very proud of. You have no idea what these guys have had to do in order to train for this event. You have no idea of the love and commitment in their hearts, all you see are people on bikes getting in your way on the roads. You are to share the road. Sometimes you have to step outside of your little box to find out what's really going on around you and to learn to appreciate what others are doing for other people. Do you know what MS is? Do any of your family members or friends suffer from MS? These guys raised money to help fight against it and riding is how they do it. Next time you may want to think before you speak.
