The American Cancer Society of Pitt County held an event Saturday at the Greenville Mall where community members could come out and get pampered for a good cause.
The event was held in efforts to raise money to find a cure to breast cancer. Folks were able to take part in free haircuts, manicures, and massages. The American Cancer Society was asking for donations of any amount. Also you could purchase some pink product to help out.
Many breast cancer survivors were there to enjoy the day. One of those was Betty Peel and she said how thankful she was to the community for coming out.
Betty Peel said, "They make us feel more comfortable like we're special and reward us for what we’ve been through, its just wonderful."
There are over two and a half million breast cancer survivors in the United States.
