Older Drivers Learn Car Safety

Many older drivers made a pitt stop Saturday off the road, to check into Carfit in Greenville.

Carfit takes drivers through a 12-point checklist looking at factors such as measuring steering wheel distance and adjusting mirrors to eliminate blind spots.

Officials say this is especially important because older adults have the highest crash rate besides teenagers.

Eight occupational therapy students volunteered from ECU to help educate these older adults.

Officials say efforts like this can prevent crashes before they happen.. and give older drivers security and safety on the road.
