Shopping Tax Free This Weekend

If you haven't bought your school supplies yet you might want to hold off. The annual sales tax holiday is happening this coming weekend, August 7 - 9.

The state statute states the holiday takes place the first Friday through Sunday of August.

Some of the tax free stuff you can pick up are clothing, footwear, computers and school supplies of less then 100 dollars per item.

No pushing and shoving.

Why have a tax free weekend at all? How can NC afford to have this weekend tax free? Think of the revenue that will be lost. Will the legislature come up next spring and take state employees money again? Think ahead you people in Raleigh.

Why should just school supplies be tax free? Everything should be tax free on this day.
