South Lenoir High School - Cameron Gray

Cameron Gray

BIOGRAPHY:
My name is Cameron Gray, and I am a senior at South Lenoir High School in Deep Run, North Carolina. I am the middle of three boys; I have a dachshund named Winnie; and I love to swim, eat, and sleep.

During the school year, I am actively involved in a number of student organizations. I have served as historian of the Student Council, vice president of the Future Business Leaders of America, and captain of the Quiz Bowl Team, in addition to being a member of the Service Club and National Honor Society. Just this year, with much support, I founded StuDEE, or Students Determined for Everyone to Excel, a tutoring coalition. Additionally, for the past two summers, I have studied at Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics and the Governor’s School of North Carolina East. Outside of my academic pursuits, I have earned the rank of Eagle Scout and volunteered at my local hospital. I also enjoy being an active member of the Woodington Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I am beyond thrilled to say that I have been named a Park Scholar at North Carolina State University. After I graduate, I plan to serve a two-year mission for my Church. I will never be adequately able to express my gratitude at the encouragement I have received from my family, friends, school, and community. Lastly, congratulations, class of 2013! We did it!
