I grew up in a little town of Severn in the rural county of Northampton. On my first day of Kindergarten, my dad told me to do my best and everything would be fine. After thirteen years of following his advice, I am finally prepared to graduate and head to Greenville in pursuit of a degree in History Education from East Carolina University. However, many things along the way led to my decision. For example, raised to be a Tar Heel, it wasn’t until my sister started ECU, and I got to accompany her to games and around campus, that I discovered my heart was actually Purple and Gold. Also, while working with my church, I began to see a strong desire to lead in my youth group. Then, I had the opportunity to go to Boston, Massachusetts as a Vacation Bible School teacher and I knew without a doubt I wanted to educate the rest of my life. Furthermore, through an internship with my Early Childhood Education class, I have gotten to meet many wonderful kids that make it worth coming back to Northampton County to teach. All in all, I am thankful for all the people in my life that have supported me and made my success possible thus far.
