In high school, I have been involved in Mock Trial, Quiz Bowl, National Honors Society, Spanish Club, Student Success Fellows Ramblers Show Choir and AIM, which is a peer mentoring group created by a group of friends and myself last year.
I attended Governor’s School East last summer, and it changed my life. Not only did I meet two amazing people that I still consider some of my best friends, but I gained a new perspective on life. That perspective is to never stop exploring or learning. Education is one of the only things that cannot be taken from you. This principle has changed the way I look at things, and I encourage everyone to never stop learning, and to enjoy it! The following quote was posted the last day of Governor’s School, and has become a mantra of mine:
“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.” -T.S. Eliot
