Croatan High School - Kalen Perry

Kalen Perry

BIOGRAPHY:
My name is Kalen Perry. I am the daughter of David and Julie Perry and a member of the Croatan High School graduating class of 2013. Other than my parents, the things that have been most influential in my life were my faith, my grandparents, my sports, and my best friend Kimberly. As a three sport athlete, honor student, National Beta Club President, FCA leader, Junior Class President, and SADD President, I have worked very hard. That hard work along with good choices has paid off as I will be attending NC State in the fall as a Park Scholar. One of my best high school experiences has been serving as the Region 2 representative for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Student Athlete Advisory Council. I take my role of leading others very seriously and have a passion for substance abuse prevention which has afforded me the opportunity to travel and speak at local, state, and national conferences as a member of the Coastal Coalition for Substance Abuse Prevention. I am also thankful for the impact that my father’s coaching has had in my life. As the little girl on the sidelines for football or the scorekeeper for wrestling, these early experiences developed my Cougar Pride and shaped my love of sports. Likewise, I am very appreciative for the teachers and coaches I have been blessed with over the past 13 years and hope to make a difference in the lives of others just as they have made a huge difference in mine.
