I am a 2012 Gates Millennium Scholar, valedictorian of my senior class and a NC Scholar. I am also a member of the National Honor Society. This year, I was nominated and chosen to represent my peers as the President of the 2012 graduating class. I was also nominated and chosen to represent GHS as the 2011 Homecoming Queen. I have successfully balanced athletics and other extra-curricular activities while in school such as SGA, Agape Club, Art Club, Health Sciences Academy, HOSA, Prom Committee, Quiz Bowl Club, cheerleading, just to name a few. I was also named Wayne County’s Youth of the Year in 2009.
In addition to my extra-curricular activities, I have also volunteered through the years at the Soup Kitchen, Britthaven Nursing Home, The Partnership for Children of Wayne County, National Pancake Day, Goldsboro High School Tutoring Program, Beautification Project at GHS, American Red Cross, Wayne County Youth in Government Day, Lifetouch Photography, Center Street Jam and the Boys and Girls Club of Wayne County for an estimation of about 800 hours.
I will attend Howard University to major in Biology/Pre-Med. After college, I will continue to pursue my graduate degree to become an OB/GYN. After I have achieved my future goals, I wish to give back to the Wayne County community by creating a need-based health program for needy families of children attending the Boys and Girls Club of Wayne County.
