Academics have always been my main priority. Since the beginning of my junior year I have succeeded in five AP courses. Some of my most memorable academic achievements include scoring a four out of five on my AP English exam, earning an A in my first college class, and placing first in the comprehensive portion of a math competition. My dedication to my studies is evident in all that I have achieved in the last four years.
Throughout the course of my high school career I have participated in track, basketball, and swim but my passion lies in volleyball. Being a captain of the Varsity Volleyball team for both my junior and senior years taught me patience, teamwork, and humbleness. My hard work on the court has been recognized through numerous awards including two MVP awards, two All-Conference recognitions, Rocky Mount Telegrams Second Team All-Area, and Rocky Mount Telegrams First Team All-Area.
My nomination for the Gold Key Award once in kindergarten and again when I was a sophomore in high school shows that I have always been a leader amongst my peers. My major goals within the next ten years include studying abroad, conducting research on the side-effects of Alzheimer’s medications, and earning my Ph.D in Psychiatry.
