Coming from a small town, I have reached out and participated in many outside opportunities. I am/have been enrolled in classes at SCHS, the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, North Carolina Virtual Public School, the North Carolina Japan Center, and Wayne Community College. At SCHS, I am an active member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and Japanese Club. I have also been involved with marching band since the eighth grade and a section leader since the eleventh grade.
I am honored to have been selected for so many great opportunities. As an online student at NCSSM (in Durham), I participate in residential weekends and various service-related activities. During the summer of 2010, I attended the summer symposium for online students at NCSSM and Governor’s School East at Meredith College. During my six weeks at Governor’s School, I had the unique opportunity to connect with outstanding individuals from across North Carolina and this was, without a doubt, the highlight of my high school career.
I am thankful for all of the support I have received and best of luck to the graduating class of 2011.
