My name is Sarah Meggison and in four weeks I will be a high school graduate. It’s simultaneously incredibly exciting and frightening! I’ve gone to Lawrence Academy in Merry Hill, North Carolina since 4th grade, and though it hasn’t always been easy or fun, my time there has been very important to me. I’ve learned about more than just history and science; I’ve learned a lot about working with others, leadership, and going after one’s goals. I have been fortunate enough to take on leadership roles in my school’s newspaper and Senior Beta Club. I’ve taken part in many programs such as the Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference and a People to People trip to Japan. Without the curiosity and confidence instilled in me by my years at Lawrence, I may never have sought these amazing opportunities.

I plan to attend St. John’s College of Annapolis, Maryland in order to build upon the skills I have begun to cultivate at Lawrence. I am passionate about using my talents for the good of others. I want to be a force for good, and promote things like art, human equality, health, and responsibility toward the environment and animals. I currently believe I might like to be a high school English or health teacher. I look forward to all that life has in store for me, because I know I have a solid foundation of skills that I can carry with me to face any challenge.
