BIOGRAPHY:
It's commonly known that when the foundation of a dwelling is faulty, the whole structure is in jeopardy of collapse. Its the foundation that makes the building sturdy, that provides the base for it to withstand the storms and changing environments of its future. The community of Goldsboro, and the people at Eastern Wayne High School have provided a foundation for me that is sure to withstand the test of time with a rock-solid continuance. My work both volunteering for and leading Key Club as President has allowed me to become a better public speaker as well as serve my school and community. Sweating for the varsity soccer, cross-country, and tennis teams has taught me that the cares of your team should always come over your own. Going on a mission trip to Puerto Rico and helping with service projects alongside the First Presbyterian Youth Group has given me a larger sense of the world and its needs.

It is less commonly known that the most important part of a foundation is called the cornerstone; the part that essentially holds up every other brick in the building. My cornerstone is both my family and my faith in a God whose plans for me are infinitely better than my own. All of these aspects of my life have been linked together to create a living, working foundation for what I hope is a future in which I can contribute to relieving some part of the ignorance and poverty in the world. Next year, I will take my first steps on the road to my future at the University of Chapel Hill, where I will be studying psychology. Congratulations Class of 2011!
