IF YOU WERE STRANDED ON A DESERTED ISLAND AND COULD ONLY TAKE ONE ITEM WITH YOU, WHAT WOULD IT BE?: If I could only bring one object I would without a doubt bring my iPod. I'm constantly listening to all sorts of music and couldn't imagine being stuck on a deserted island without some jams to pass the time!
Academics have played a huge role in my life as Parrott Academy has provided me with a wonderful learning environment that enabled me to learn and grow into a better person. I have always strived to succeed academically and earned a place among my class’s top students. Next year, I plan to continue my studies in environmental science at either UNC Chapel Hill or Duke University.
For as long as I can remember, I have been fiercely committed to an extremely important issue– the preservation and protection of our natural environment. Beginning my freshmen year, I played an important role as Outdoor Club President in spearheading and maintaining a school-wide recycling system supported entirely by students on a day-to-day basis. Working together with my classmates to ensure our project’s survival has taught me the personal value of cultivating strong bonds with my peers.
I feel like the APA class of 2011 has become a sort of second family to me, and I cannot believe our journey is about to come to a close. As we part ways to begin our lives as adults, I know Parrott Academy has equipped us with the tools to succeed in whatever task we may undertake. Go Patriots!
