Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies Friday, October 23, 2009

Ingredients

48 Hersheys Kisses milk chocolate candy, unwrapped
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 egg
2 TBSP milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
granulated sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 deg. Beat shortening and peanut butter in large bowl, add 1/3 cup granulated and brown sugar. Beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla and beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually beat into mixture. Shape dough into 1 inch b alls. Roll in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until just lightly browned. Immediately press a chocolate kiss into center of each cookie. Remove from baking sheet and cool completely on a wire rack. Makes about 48 cookies.
