2 lbs fully cooked ham, ground
1 large onion, grated
7 oz Swiss cheese, grated
1 TBSP each mustard and poppy seeds
2 sticks butter, melted
1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
4 pkg small rolls in a foil pan
Mix all ingredients (except rolls) together well. Slice tops off rolls and spread the bottoms (still in the foil pan) generously with the ham mixture. Replace tops of rolls. Cover tightly with foil. Bake 15 minutes at 350 deg. Serve warm.
These can be made ahead and frozen. When you have prepared the rolls as above and wrapped in the foil, place them in the freezer. About an hour before you plan to serve them, remove from the freezer and allow to partially thaw. Bake for about 25 minutes at 350 deg.
When we use these for a tailgate party, we bake them just before we leave and place in a thermal bag to keep warm. If you like, a plastic container with a tight fitting lid can be filled with very hot water and placed in the bag with the rolls to help keep them hot.
