Caramel Bars Wednesday, October 29, 2008


1 cup plus 1 TBSP flour, divided
1 cup quick cooking oats
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
pinch of salt
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 12 oz jar caramel ice cream topping
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts


Preheat oven to 350 deg. Lightly spray a 9x13 inch baking pan with baking spray. Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, soda and salt. Stir in butter, mix well. Press into prepared pan and bake 10 minutes or until set. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Combine ice cream topping with 1 TBSP flour and drizzle over chips. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake about 20 minutes or until bubbly. Cool completely before cutting into about 3 dozen bars.
