Cream Cheese Pound Cake Friday, September 19, 2008


1 1/2 cups butter (3 sticks)
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3 cups plain flour
1/8 tsp salt


Beat butter and cream cheese at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating for at least 5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time beating between each. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour and salt and beat into butter mixture. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Pour 2 cups water into a pan and place in a 300 deg oven with the cake. Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until cake test done. Cool in pan about 10 to 15 minutes and remove from pan to cool completely
