Seven Layer Taco Dip Tuesday, July 22, 2008
1 pkg taco seasoning mix
1 14 to 16 oz can refried beans
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
1 16 oz container sour cream
1 16 oz jar salsa
2 large tomatoes, chopped
1 bunch green onions, chopped
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 6 oz can sliced black olives, drained (optional)
In a medium bowl, blend the taco seasoning mix and refried beans. Spread the mixture onto a large serving platter or in the bottom of a 9x13 glass dish. Mix the sour cream and cream cheese in a medium bowl. Spread over the refried beans. Top the layers with salsa. Place a layer of tomato mixed with green onions over the salsa, and top with Cheddar cheese. Garnish with black olives if desired.
There are those who put in a layer of shredded iceberg lettuce over the tomato layer. I don’t like that much so I don’t do it. You may if you like.
