Sweet and Hot Chicken Wings Thursday, March 13, 2008


3 lbs chicken wings with tips removed and cut into two pieces
1/2 tsp salt, divided
black pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup vinegar
2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
1 TBSP Dijon mustard
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 to 1 tsp hot pepper sauce (to taste)
sesame seeds (optional)


Sprinkle chicken wings with a little salt and pepper. Broil about 4 inches from the heat for 5 to 10 minutes on each side or until nicely browned. Place in a greased slow cooker. Mix remaining ingredients (except sesame seeds if you are using them) and pour over chicken. Toss to coat. Cover and cook on low for about 3 1/2 hours. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve
