on Apr 23, 2009 at 12:02 PM I have been vacationing there nearly every summer since I was born (1983). I got married in Avon last summer and my favorite wedding pictures were the ones we had shot at the lighthouse. Only 106 days until I return, and I can't wait! Posted by: Ben Location: Graham, NC
on Apr 1, 2009 at 12:38 PM I visit this site a couple of times a week at lunch. I look from the top and the bottom. It's relaxing. But, please fix your Mattamuskeet Cam. I like that one more. Posted by: Bob Location: Johnstown,PA
on Mar 11, 2009 at 09:02 AM This is my favorite vacation spot and just the daily look at it drops my blood pressure! I'm the guy who fixes all our tower cams at our station so I can appreciate what it takes to keep them all going. Thank you for the daily daydream! Posted by: J Location: Gville
on Jan 21, 2009 at 12:57 PM its not that easy to get a shot of Hatteras with water anymore since they moved it. (unless you have a helicopter!) Im so glad I was able to enjoy it on the sandy beaches of NC for such a long time. Posted by: Sam Location: Williamston
on Dec 4, 2008 at 02:44 PM Michelle from Hatteras, you are very lucky to be from there. I would love to see a shot of the Cape Hatteras lighthouse facing toward the ocean, with snow on the ground. That would be awesome. Posted by: tarheel-in-bama Location: Alabama
on Sep 27, 2008 at 10:29 AM I first visited the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in 1957 as a little boy. My family would climb the steps, but I would run to the top! Great memories of this historic landmark! I've visited many times, most recently in 2007. Followed the move from its original location to its present one-an amazing feat! I recommend Lighthouse Friends.com website for lighthouse enthusiasts. Posted by: Julia Location: Yancey County, NC

on Jul 24, 2008 at 03:24 PM my first vist to the Outer Banks was the year they were moving the lighthouse. What a sight to see, I felt lucky to have been a part of history that week. I fell in love with OXB. I have been back since and will continue to come back for years to come. I update my background picutre on my computer from time to time so I can fell like I am there. Thank you for sharing the lighthouse with us. Posted by: Lynette Location: Texas
on Jul 24, 2008 at 11:22 AM I would like to say that i'm from the east coast of NC! i think the hatteras lighthouse is beautiful! To my NC people U Rock!! Posted by: Bob Location: Frenchtown, NJ
on Jul 17, 2008 at 01:19 PM I second the motion to nudge those volunteers! The lighthouse top cam seems to have been out of commission for some time now. For us folks yearning for the outer banks but not there at the moment - it is always nice to take a peek at this cam - especially during the winter months!
Probably a good idea about cape point... but I like seeing Buxton also! Posted by: James Location: Knotts Island
on Jun 10, 2008 at 08:05 PM Is it smokey there? Posted by: IAATS Location: OHIO
on May 3, 2008 at 09:32 AM Well please 'nudge' the volunteers at Cape Hatteras to get the cam back up and running. And point it out toward's Cape Point!!!!!
Editor's Note: Should be back soon.

on Apr 14, 2008 at 01:47 PM I have really missed the lighthouse cam; thank you so much for sponsoring it. I have visited this sight since before the move. It gives me a chance to visit the coast before my once-a-year vacation in Buxton! Posted by: jim austin Location: washington

on Jan 27, 2008 at 11:49 AM We had a WONDERFUL family vacation in the Outer Banks this past summer! We lover to come to this site and see the beautiful lighthouse. It brings back some great memories. We can't wait to come back again! The people were so nice, the area so beautiful and so family friendly. Thank you so much for the camera location! It's helping the winter pass up here!!! Take care and see you soon Cape Hatteras!!! Posted by: will Location: fayetteville,nc

on Dec 11, 2007 at 11:58 AM I am always using various pictures from WITN Webcams as my wallpaper on my computer. These are awesome. Thank you so much for offering these webcam shots to your viewers. Are there plans for future webcams in other places in Eastern North Carolina? I think one should be placed at Jockey's Ridge State Park or Wright Brothers Memorial.
Editor's note: We are always looking for new locations. The hard part is finding a place with stable power, internet and something easily accessible. It takes a full day to go to the Hatteras camera and make a repair and drive back. Fortunately, the rangers and volunteers there are usually able to "nudge" our machines back into operation. Other camera locations require us to make an appointment to actually get access to the camera & computer.
