Winter May Start Out Chilly

Current forecasts suggest an early start to winter this year.

An early start to winter is expected across the Southeast this year.  Temperatures in November should average slightly below the long-term averages.  The chill is expected to linger into December with temperatures once again expected to be slightly below normal.  New forecasts issued this week by the National Weather Service would suggest that temperatures may actually return to above normal readings after the first of the year.  If these forecasts hold up we may need to get our snow early this winter or we may miss out.  Current indications point to much colder than normal conditions will develop across the northern Plains and Rockies into much of central to western Canada while we warm up during the latter half of the winter.  I'll continue to update our winter forecast in the weeks ahead.
