When Is The First Frost And Freeze?

The first frost and freeze should occur within the next month across much of eastern North Carolina.

Cold fronts are getting stronger and it won't be long before the first frost and freeze arrive in eastern North Carolina.  Most inland communities usually see some patchy frost by the end of October but coastal locations typically don't see any until well into November.  Freezing temperatures will come much later.  Along Interstate 95 we see 32° readings around the first week of November while folks that live along Highway 17 typically see the freezing mark around the 10th to 15th of the month.  Some coastal communities may not see freezing temperatures until early December.

A strong cold front will push through our area late this week and some frost may occur deep inland by late in the weekend.  Coastal communities will probably need to wait a while longer.
