Over the past few months we've seen a wetter than normal weather pattern across eastern North Carolina.  It now appears we'll return to a quieter pattern as we head into the upcoming weekend and first part of next week.  Eastern Carolina missed the brunt of Hurricane Sandy but it did brush our coastal communities with strong winds, heavy rainfall, heavy surf and beach erosion.  Another storm was developing Tuesday night off the North Carolina coast but it will move northeast rapidly over the next 24 hours and spare eastern Carolina from a major problem.  There will be some moderate to heavy rainfall along the Outer Banks but most inland communities will see little or no rain. 

Following the nor'easter, we'll see improving conditions across our area.  Sunshine will return by Thursday as temperatures slowly warm back to near normal conditions.   The weekend looks beautiful with highs in the 60s then we could see highs around 70° early next week.  It will be a nice break from the cold and damp weather conditions we've seen so far in November.
