Since late September much of eastern North Carolina has experienced dry conditions. The WITN Weather Stations has received only .41" since the beginning of October. Dry conditions will continue through the weekend as highs hit the 70s. A weakening cold front will increase moisture across the area by early next week, although heavy rainfall is not expected. A stronger cold front will reach eastern North Carolina by the latter portion of next week and that should increase the threat of more significant rainfall.
