Eastern North Carolina has generally been quite chilly over the past couple of weeks. We've seen a few warm days but the cooler days have far outnumbered the warmer ones. Most communities had a light freeze earlier in the week and I'm sure it has lots of folks asking when we're finally going to warm up. It looks like a slow warming trend will get underway over the weekend with highs in the 60s. Early next week, we should see highs well into the 70s ahead of a cold front that could bring some showers and thunderstorms late Tuesday or Tuesday night. Seasonable temperatures will follow the cold front during the middle to latter portion of next week. We could still see a late season frost or light freeze beyond next week but at least the trend for temperatures is up.
