Eastern North Carolina has endured a chilly winter and there appears to be little change through next week. We did see temperatures briefly into the lower 70s during the middle of the week before the chill returned Thursday. We will see near normal temperatures in the 50s over the weekend but more cold air is likely to return by the middle of next week. We're likely to see more precipitation as well. Over the past 10 days it has been too warm for snow but February and March can bring surprises. It is too early to tell whether we'll see more snow this winter.
