The storm system that brought rain to eastern North Carolina Tuesday and Wednesday is moving rapidly away from the area. Sunshine will return on Thursday and should last through the upcoming weekend. It will still remain a bit chilly but the next few days should not be nearly as cold as what we've seen over the last two months. Highs will reach the 40s Thursday and lower 50s Friday through Sunday. The best thing will be the return of the sun and that will make it feel warmer. The first portion of next week should remain sesonably chilly but another cold shot could be headed our way by the middle of the week. It appears that winter isn't over just yet.
