Slightly cooler air will move into eastern Carolina by the late week and weekend as a cold front slides southward into the area. It will be a significant change from the hot and humid weather that enveloped eastern Carolina over the weekend and first portion of the week. There will be a few storms around through Thursday but drier air will follow the front for Friday and the weekend. Temperatures will top out in the lower to middle 80s Thursday through the weekend. Lots of sunshine will return to the area by Friday as the front pushes well to our south. At this point it appears the weekend will be generally sunny and comfortable.
The tropical season will officially begin June 1. Some of the models are suggesting an area of disturbed weather could move into the eastern Gulf of Mexico or Florida in a week or so. The first storm of the season will be named Arthur. We'll keep you updated throughout the season.
