Below normal temperatures that started around Thanksgiving have continued into the second week of January. At the WITN Weather Station temperatures averaged 10.8 degrees below normal in December, which made it one of the coldest winter months in several years. So far in January temperatures have averaged between 5 and 6 degrees below average. Although not quite as cold as December, January has continued to put a real chill in the air. The current forecast suggests some warming this weekend into early next week. We'll have to see how long the warm-up lasts. Some of us would probably like to see it last for quite a while.
