A real taste of spring moved into eastern Carolina Tuesday and will stick around through the end of the week. Temperatures warmed into the upper 70s Tuesday and will reach the lower 80s Wednesday through Friday. The warmth will be coupled with dry weather conditions through Friday afternoon. A weak cold front will push into eastern Carolina by Saturday, causing an increase in clouds and slightly cooler temperatures. We may see a few showers Friday night or Saturday but amounts should be light.
Next week will see significant changes in the weather pattern. A strong cold front will arrive by midweek bringing a better chance for rain. Also, a shot of colder air will follow the front and could cause temperatures to drop into the 30s. It is too early to tell whether temperatures will get cold enough for a frost or even a light freeze. The coldest temperatures will occur on Thursday morning and Friday morning next week. We'll keep you updated as we move into early next week. Meanwhile, let's enjoy the beautiful springlike weather conditions for the remainder of this week.
